In a church that runs around 400 people in Sunday school,
a good-sized leadership team would have 5-7 people. Following is a
list of possible positions for a church this size. The information
has been gathered from a variety of sources that are listed in the
resource page.
Team Director
Oversees the women's ministry
Helps the leadership team develop their gifts and leadership skills
Bible Study Coordinator/Leader
Event & Encouragement Coordinator
Organizes each monthly activity/fellowship time.
Coordinates decorations, speakers, games, and refreshments.
Helps to oversee yearly outreach activities such as Mother/Daughter
Tea
Card Ministry - birthday, anniversaries for the whole church
Service Coordinator
Organizes meals for the sick, new moms
Organizes emergency child care
Visitation Coordinator
Heads up the ladies visitation program
Oversees the new member/visitor luncheon
Prayer Coordinator
Oversees the prayer chain
Coordinates any special prayer events
Bible Study Coordinator
Oversees all Bible Studies
Meets with study leaders to determine studies, childcare, refreshments,
etc ...
Retreat Coordinator
Oversees women's retreats

Women's Ministry Director/Assistant
Oversee all women's ministries
Leadership training for ministry team
Bible Study Coordinator/Assistant - Oversee Leaders/Committees for:

follow-up of first time attendees/new believers
child care
greeters at the study
prayer
set-up and cleanup
refreshments
Encouragement Coordinator/Assistant - Oversee outreach ministries,
which might include:
women-visiting-women program
monthly ladies night out event
seasonal special events
card ministry
mom to mom or MOPS [mothers of preschoolers] program
Service Coordinator/Assistant - Oversees the coordination of:
food for the ill/new mothers
community service volunteers
visitor and new member luncheon
food pantry/clothes closet
missions outreach
accommodations for visiting speakers
Discipleship Coordinator/Assistant - Oversees the leaders of:
mentoring program
new believer/foundations classes
yearly 1-day conference on discipleship
Retreat Coordinator
recruits a committee and plans a weekend retreat
speaker
accommodations
scholarships
What you do at your church will depend upon the size of your church
and the needs of your women.
